TRAINING FOR LIBRARIANS

How librarians can work with artificial intelligence and how libraries can be innovative centres of education for everyone was the focus of the winter school organised by the Department of Library Science, Archives and Information Systems at …, Greece.

Over five days, librarians and experts examined theoretical and practical aspects of the recommendations of the Council of Europe Recommendation on library Legislation and Policy from 2023 related to libraries as centres for free access to knowledge and information resources. How technological development and the way of creating information changes our behaviour and libraries participate in the formation of information and media literacy in citizens were among the topics discussed. Many good practices were also exchanged in the field of implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals and practical tasks were developed the libraries can apply in their work, immediately after the end of the training.

TELL, the Trans-European Learning Libraries project is being implemented by a consortium of 11 partners from 7 countries and is funded by the EU’s Erasmus Programme.
