TRAINING FOR LIBRARIANS
Between 18 and 20 February 2026, the University of Osijek in Croatia hosted a winter school as part of the Trans-European Learning Libraries project. The Global Libraries Bulgaria Foundation is a project partner and sent four librarians to the school. The training focused on EU Structural and Investment Funds and how libraries may access these funds at the national and European level.
The Bulgarian participants were: Petya Georgieva, Director of the Library at the Agricultural University of Plovdiv; Viktoria Ivanova, Director of the Library at Angel Kanchev University in Ruse; Svetomira Vacheva from Partenij Pavlovic Regional Library in Silistra; and Anna-Maria Popova from Pencho Slaveykov Regional Library in Varna.
The training included identifying project ideas, group work, and project proposal development. At the end of the intensive three-day session, participants left with a set of ready-made project ideas and new contacts for future consortia-building within national and European library networks.
TELL is funded by the Erasmus Programme of the European Union and is being implemented by 11 partners from 7 countries: Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania, France and Croatia.
