Five library professionals from Bulgaria will take part in two upcoming winter schools in Thessaloniki and Osijek as part of the TELL project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
Silvia Pavlova (Hristo Botev Regional Library in Vratsa) and Desislava Ivanova ( Mihalaki Georgiev Regional Library in Vidin) will go to Thessaloniki from 26 to 30 January, and Elitsa Lozanova-Belcheva (Department of Library Science, Scientific Information and Cultural Policy at the Fаculty of Philosophy, Sofia University), Petya Toleva (Agrarian University Library, Plovdiv) and Svetomira Vacheva (Partenii Pavlovich Regional Library, Silistra) will attend the school in Osijek from 17 to 19 February.
The aim of the training programmes is to build national networks of experts who will prepare a guide on the Council of Europe recommendations on library legislation and policies in Europe. They will examine in depth topics such as the integration of the UN Sustainable Development Goals into the work of libraries, the challenges facing democracy today and how libraries can respond, and the opportunities available through European Structural and Investment Funds.
